Many people seem very worried that religion will infiltrate their lives, pointing a finger at feudal europe, when the Catholic churched ruled, and pre-American England, from which our fore-fathers fled (were kicked out) seeking religious freedom (that they mecilessly imposed on all that came to dwell in the "new world," and even those that had already been living there and had their own system of beliefs). Some want to take "God" out of the schools and the Constitution. Some people seem so very concerned with the separation of church and state.
But how come nobody is concerned with the separation of business and state? Capitalism is not just an economic system in the U.S., but truly a form of government. Democracy, pshaw! The government may claim that is run "by the people, for the people", but it is closer to "by the corporations, for the dollar." Big businesses and their lobbyists have much more say in the goings on up at Capitol Hill than the average Joe Shmoe Voter.
Business is just another way of saying cheating someone out of their money. So, long ago, the U.S. government decided to limit just how much money a business could cheat out of each person. Since then, businesses have been interested in changing these limits in order to make more money. And for the most part, we (the American public) have let them. This is mostly due to the fact that most of us make more money when big businesses make more money. Let's replace the "In God We Trust" on the dollar with "In the Dollar We Trust."
So here's my idea: Screw even trying to be a demacratic government, let's turn our country into one big corporation! Then the government wouldn't have to make laws for corporations, because the corporation would be the government. Oh wait, isn't that called socialism?
